  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 tbsp sugar
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 tbsp baking powder
  • 1 large egg
  • 3/4 cup whole milk
  • 1 1/2 tsp vanilla extract

  • Melt 2 tbsp unsalted butter

    Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and stir with a spatula or spoon just until a batter forms and no dry streaks remain. Do not overmix; lumps are okay. Use the batter immediately.
