Meal plan FAQ

What is a meal plan on Plan n Cook?

A meal plan is a weekly schedule of recipes you choose for each day. You can add meals from your kitchen or our public recipe library, then view the plan on a calendar and build a shopping list from it.

Is Plan n Cook free for meal planning?

Yes. You can start planning meals for free without an account. Creating a free account lets you save your meal plan, keep recipes in your kitchen, and generate a shopping list. Browsing public kitchens and featured meal plans also does not require an account.

How do I create a weekly meal plan?

Open the weekly meal planner, choose a day and meal, then search or browse recipes to add. No account is required to try it. Create a free account when you want to save the plan and generate a shopping list.

Can I scale a recipe to different servings?

Yes. Use the free recipe serving calculator to set a target yield and recalculate ingredient quantities, or change servings on any public recipe page. The same scale factor powers meal plan shopping lists.

Can I subtract pantry items from my shopping list?

Yes. Track staples in your pantry and they are omitted from meal plan shopping lists, so you only see what you still need to buy.

Can I share my meal plan with others?

Yes. Publish a meal plan from your public kitchen so others can view it, or share featured plans you find on the site. Signed-in users can copy a public meal plan into their own kitchen.
