  • 2 pounds asparagus
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 1 tablespoon slivered peeled ginger
  • 2 garlic cloves, slivered
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
  • ¼ cup chicken stock or broth
  • (1½ tablespoons toasted white or black sesame seeds)
  • (1 teaspoon toasted sesame oil)

Let's Prepare

Gather these ingredients - no prep needed yet.

  • 2 pounds asparagus
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 1 tablespoon slivered peeled ginger
  • 2 garlic cloves, slivered
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
  • ¼ cup chicken stock or broth
  • (1½ tablespoons toasted white or black sesame seeds)
  • (1 teaspoon toasted sesame oil)

Let's Cook

  1. Step 1.

    Trim, above, and cut into 2-inch pieces: 2 pounds asparagus

  2. Step 2.

    Heat in a wok or skillet over high heat: 2 tablespoons vegetable oil

  3. Step 3.

    Swirl the oil in the pan, then add the asparagus along with: 1 tablespoon slivered peeled ginger

  4. Step 4.

    Stir-fry for 2 to 3 minutes, then add: 2 garlic cloves, slivered; ¼ teaspoon salt

  5. Step 5.

    Stir-fry for 1 minute, then add: ¼ cup chicken stock or broth

  6. Step 6.

    Cover, reduce the heat slightly, and cook until the asparagus is tender, 3 to 5 minutes. If desired, serve sprinkled with: (1½ tablespoons toasted white or black sesame seeds); (1 teaspoon toasted sesame oil)
