  1. Step 1.

    Position a rack in the lower third of the oven. Preheat the oven to 350°F. Grease a 9 × 5-inch loaf pan. Prepare Irish Soda Bread using the greater amount of sugar and buttermilk. Substitute 2 tablespoons poppy seeds for the raisins and caraway seeds. Scrape the batter into the pan and bake as above, but for 35 to 40 minutes.
