Juniper Tangled Greens
A winter cabbage side dish with juniper berries and mustard seeds, inspired by Calcutta Tangled Greens. Quick and flavorful, perfect with any meal.

Step 1.
Heat the vegetable oil in a large non-stick frying pan over medium heat. When hot, add the mustard seeds and let them sizzle until fragrant, about 30 seconds. Then add the finely chopped garlic and crushed juniper berries, and cook for 3–4 minutes, stirring occasionally, until fragrant.

Add the ground turmeric and stir well. Then add the finely shredded cabbage along with the salt and sugar. Cook for 5–6 minutes, stirring frequently, until the cabbage has wilted and is tender throughout.

Squeeze in the lemon juice, stir to combine, and serve hot.
