Let's Prepare

Collect

Gather these ingredients — no prep needed yet.

  • 7.39 ml black loose-leaf tea
  • 4.93 ml ground cinnamon
  • 2.46 ml ground ginger
  • 1.23 ml freshly ground black pepper
  • 1.23 ml ground cloves
  • 1.23 ml ground cardamom
  • 7.39 ml honey
  • 125 ml almond milk

Let's Cook

  1. Step 1.

Place the black loose-leaf tea (or 2 black tea bags), ground cinnamon, ground ginger, freshly ground black pepper, ground cloves, and ground cardamom in a small saucepan. Add 200ml (scant 1 cup) water and set over medium heat. Bring to a boil, then reduce the heat to low and simmer gently for 15 minutes, allowing the tea and spices to steep. Remove from heat and let cool slightly for a few minutes.

  2. Step 2.

Add the honey and almond milk to the saucepan and stir well. Taste and add a little more honey if you prefer a sweeter tea. Pour the mixture through a fine mesh strainer into a mug, pressing on the solids to extract all liquid. Serve immediately.
