Caramel Apples

Fresh apples on skewers dipped in a smooth, buttery caramel coating. A classic fall treat that sets quickly and can be garnished as desired.
Ingredients
- 5 medium apples, washed and dried
- 1 1 recipe Salted Caramels or 1 pound store-bought soft caramels (opens in new tab)
- 2 tablespoons water

Gather these ingredients - no prep needed yet.
- 5 medium apples, washed and dried
- 1 1 recipe Salted Caramels or 1 pound store-bought soft caramels
- 2 tablespoons water
Let's Cook

Step 1.
Insert a wooden skewer in the stem end of each of: 5 medium apples, washed and dried

Step 2.
Place in the top of a double boiler over simmering water: 1 recipe Salted Caramels or 1 pound store-bought soft caramels; 2 tablespoons water

Step 3.
Heat and stir until the caramels melt into a smooth coating. Dip the skewered apples into the sauce, twirling them until completely coated. Dry and garnish as directed in Candied Apples. If refrigerated, they will harden in a few minutes.
