Basic Sugar
A classic doughnut glaze made with confectioners' sugar, vanilla, and milk or water. Dip doughnuts for a sweet finish.

- 355 ml confectioners' sugar, sifted

Step 1.
In a medium bowl, combine 1½ cups (180 grams) sifted confectioners' sugar and a pinch of kosher salt. Slowly stir in 2 teaspoons vanilla extract (if using) and 3 to 4 tablespoons milk or water, adding a little at a time, until you have a smooth, pourable glaze. You may not need all the liquid.

Step 2.
Dip the top of each doughnut into the glaze, gently shaking to remove any excess. For an allover glaze, flip and dip the other side as well.

Allow the glaze to set on the doughnuts for 5 to 10 minutes before serving.
