- 4.93 ml liquid smoke

Let's Cook
-
Step 1.
In a small bowl, combine 1 teaspoon dried minced onions with 1 tablespoon lemon juice. Let soak for 5 minutes until the onions soften.
-
Step 2.
While the onions soak, open a 15-ounce can of salmon and drain it well. In a medium bowl, mix the drained salmon with 8 ounces of cream cheese until thoroughly combined.
-
Step 3.
Add the soaked onion-lemon juice mixture to the salmon and cream cheese. Then add 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce, 1 teaspoon prepared horseradish, and 1 teaspoon liquid smoke (if available). Stir until evenly blended. Adjust seasonings to taste.
-
Step 4.
If desired, chill the mixture slightly to make it easier to shape. For a classic presentation, form the mixture into a ball and roll it in slivered almonds and chopped parsley. Alternatively, transfer the mixture to a serving dish, cover, and refrigerate for several hours until firm.
-
Step 5.
Serve the salmon ball or spread with crackers. It also pairs well with a dry martini or your favorite cocktail. Leftovers are excellent on bagels.
