  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 lb ground pork
  • 2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp ground black pepper
  • 2 eggs
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • 1 cup dry bread crumbs
  • 1 cup butter
  • 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 cup chicken broth
  • 2 cup sour cream

Prepare

  • 1/3 cup onion, finely chopped
  • Chop 1/4 cup fresh dill

Let's Cook

  1. Step 1.

    Preheat oven to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C).

  2. Step 2.

In a large bowl, combine ground beef, ground pork, salt, pepper, eggs, finely chopped onion, and heavy cream. Mix until well blended.

  3. Step 3.

With moistened hands, shape the mixture into 1-inch balls.

  4. Step 4.

Roll the meatballs in dry bread crumbs until well coated.

  5. Step 5.

Arrange the coated meatballs in a single layer on a large, shallow baking sheet.

  6. Step 6.

Melt 1/2 cup butter in a large saucepan over low heat. Stir in the all-purpose flour and cook for 1-2 minutes, stirring constantly.

  7. Step 7.

Gradually stir in the chicken broth. Continue stirring until the mixture thickens and becomes bubbly.

  8. Step 8.

Blend in the sour cream and chopped fresh dill. Remove from heat and set aside.

  9. Step 9.

Melt the remaining 1/2 cup butter in a small saucepan over low heat. Drizzle the melted butter over the meatballs on the baking sheet.

  10. Step 10.

Bake the meatballs in the preheated oven for 35 minutes, turning occasionally, until evenly browned.

  11. Step 11.

Place the baked meatballs in a chafing dish and pour the sauce over them to serve.
