Let's Cook
-
Step 1.
In a large bowl, thoroughly mix 3 1/2 to 4 cups flour, 2 teaspoons sugar, and 1 teaspoon salt.
-
Step 2.
In a small bowl, dissolve 1 package yeast in 1 cup warm water (about 110°F) and let it sit for 5-10 minutes until frothy (proofed).
-
Step 3.
Add the proofed yeast mixture to the flour mixture and stir. Then pour in 2 tablespoons olive oil and stir until the dough begins to form a ball in the bowl.
-
Step 4.
Turn the dough out onto a lightly floured surface and knead for about 5-7 minutes until smooth and elastic. Place the dough back in the bowl, cover with a damp cloth, and let it rise for 20 minutes.
-
Step 5.
After rising, punch down the dough and roll it out on a floured surface into a circle slightly larger than your pizza stone or baking sheet.
-
Step 6.
Preheat the oven to 450°F. Transfer the rolled dough to a preheated pizza stone or greased baking sheet. Bake for 25 minutes or until the crust is golden brown.
