Pour ½ teaspoon of absinthe into the chilled glass and swirl it around to coat the bottom and sides. Discard any excess absinthe if desired.
-
Step 3.
Add 1 dash of Peychaud’s bitters and ½ teaspoon of simple syrup to the glass. Stir gently to combine.
-
Step 4.
Pour 2 ounces of rye whiskey into the glass and stir briefly to mix all ingredients.
-
Step 5.
Twist a strip of lemon peel over the glass to release its oils, then rub the rim of the glass with the peel. Drop the twist into the drink as a garnish.
