- Slice 1 lemon

Step 1.
Juice 8 large lemons to yield about 1 cup of juice. Strain the juice through a fine-mesh sieve to remove seeds and pulp if desired.

In a large pitcher, combine the lemon juice, 6 cups water, and 1¼ cups granulated sugar. Stir vigorously until the sugar is completely dissolved, about 1-2 minutes.
