Let's Prepare

Collect

Gather these ingredients — no prep needed yet.

  • 6 cup water
  • 1 1/4 cup granulated sugar

Prepare

  • Juice 8 large lemons
  • Slice 1 lemon

Let's Cook

  1. Step 1.

Juice 8 large lemons to yield about 1 cup of juice. Strain the juice through a fine-mesh sieve to remove seeds and pulp if desired.

  2. Step 2.

In a large pitcher, combine the lemon juice, 6 cups water, and 1¼ cups granulated sugar. Stir vigorously until the sugar is completely dissolved, about 1-2 minutes.

  3. Step 3.

Refrigerate the lemonade until cold, at least 1 hour. While it chills, you can slice 1 lemon into thin rounds for garnish.

  4. Step 4.

Fill 8 glasses with ice. Pour the chilled lemonade over the ice and garnish each glass with a lemon slice before serving.
