A classic cocktail made with rye, sweet vermouth, cognac, Benedictine, and bitters, stirred and garnished with lemon peel.

Step 1.
Fill a rocks glass with ice cubes.

Step 2.
Pour ¾ ounce rye, ¾ ounce sweet vermouth, ¾ ounce cognac, ⅛ ounce Benedictine, 2 dashes Angostura bitters, and 2 dashes Peychaud’s bitters into the glass.

Step 3.
Stir the mixture gently for about 15–20 seconds to chill and combine the ingredients.

Step 4.
Twist a strip of lemon peel over the drink to release its oils, then rub the rim of the glass with the peel and drop it in as garnish.
