Gather these ingredients — no prep needed yet.

  • 1.06 L light brown sugar
  • 6 eggs
  • 14.8 ml vanilla extract
  • 1.06 L all-purpose flour
  • 1.66 L quick oats
  • 29.6 ml baking soda
  • 14.8 ml salt
  • 1.02 kg semisweet chocolate chips

Prepare

  • Soften 710 ml salted butter
  • 710 ml seedless raisins, or, half raisins and half chopped nuts

Let's Cook

  1. Step 1.

    Heat oven to 350 degrees.  Lightly grease baking sheets.

  2. Step 2.

    Cream butter and sugar until light and fluffy.  Beat in eggs and vanilla.  Stir in flour, oats, baking soda, and salt; mix well.  stir in chocolate chips and raisins.

  3. Step 3.

    Drop dough, about 1 tablespoon for each cookie, 1 ½ inches apart onto prepared baking sheet.

  4. Step 4.

    Bake for 10-12 minutes or until edges are lightly browned.  Cool cookies on wire rack.

  5. Step 5.

    Makes about 3 dozen cookies.
