Let's Prepare

Collect

Gather these ingredients — no prep needed yet.

  • 4 tbsp melted butter
  • 1/2 lbs thinly sliced smoked ham
  • 1 tbsp dried onion flakes
  • 2 tsp poppy seeds

Prepare

  • 24 soft slider rolls, split
  • 1/2 lbs sharp Cheddar cheese, thinly sliced
  • 1/2 lbs dill pickle slices, drained and patted dry
  • 2 plum tomatoes, seeded and very thinly sliced

Let's Cook

  1. Step 1.

Preheat the oven to 375°F. Brush the bottom of a 13x9-inch baking dish with half of the melted butter (about 2 tablespoons). Arrange the bottom halves of the slider rolls in the dish, cut side up.

  2. Step 2.

Layer the sliced Cheddar cheese evenly over the rolls, followed by the drained pickle slices, then the thinly sliced tomatoes, and finally the smoked ham. Place the top halves of the rolls on the ham. Cover the dish tightly with aluminum foil and bake for 20 minutes.

  3. Step 3.

While the sliders bake, combine the dried onion flakes and poppy seeds in a small bowl. After 20 minutes, remove the foil from the baking dish. Brush the tops of the rolls with the remaining melted butter and sprinkle evenly with the onion-poppy seed mixture. Return to the oven, uncovered, and bake for 10 to 15 minutes, until the tops are deep golden brown. Let rest for a few minutes before serving.
