Gyros or Greek Tzatziki Sauce
A classic Greek tzatziki sauce made with drained yogurt, cucumber, garlic, and dill. Perfect for gyros or as a dip.
Ingredients
- 2 plain yogurt drain for 2 hours in a colander
- 2 cucumbers peeled, seeded and diced - then salt and let sit for 1 hour and drain
- 29.6 ml olive oil
- 0.5 lemon juiced
- salt to taste
- pepper to taste
- 14.8 ml fresh dill chopped
- 3 clove garlic peeled

Prepare

- 2 cucumbers, peeled, seeded and diced - then salt and let sit for 1 hour and drain
- Juice 0.5 lemon
- salt, to taste
- pepper, to taste
- Chop 14.8 ml fresh dill
- Peel 3 clove garlic

Step 1.
Drain 2 containers of plain yogurt in a colander for 2 hours.

Peel, seed, and dice 2 cucumbers, then salt them and let sit for 1 hour, then drain.

In a food processor or blender, combine yogurt, cucumber, 2 tablespoons olive oil, juice of 1/2 lemon, salt and pepper to taste, 1 tablespoon chopped fresh dill, and 3 peeled garlic cloves.

Process until well-combined.

Transfer to a separate dish, cover, and refrigerate for at least one hour for best flavor.
