Step 1.
In a blender, combine the garlic clove, peeled and sliced ginger, and fresh lime juice. Pulse until the garlic and ginger are finely chopped.

Add the plain yogurt, ground turmeric, curry powder, sugar, and ½ teaspoon kosher salt to the blender. Puree until the mixture is completely smooth.

Use the dressing immediately as a marinade: marinate chicken for 30 minutes or shrimp for 15 minutes. Alternatively, let the dressing stand at room temperature for 30 minutes before using as a dressing.
