Let's Cook
-
Step 1.
In a medium bowl, whisk together 1⅓ cups flour, ½ teaspoon baking soda, and ½ teaspoon salt. Set aside.
-
Step 2.
In a large bowl, beat ½ cup softened butter, ⅓ cup sugar, and ½ cup light brown sugar with an electric mixer on medium speed until light and fluffy, about 2 minutes. Add 1 egg and ¾ teaspoon vanilla; beat until combined.
-
Step 3.
Gradually add the flour mixture to the butter mixture, mixing on low speed just until incorporated. Stir in 1 cup chocolate chips with a spatula until evenly distributed.
-
Step 4.
Drop rounded tablespoon-sized balls of dough onto an ungreased cookie sheet, spacing them about 2 inches apart. Bake at 350°F for 8 to 10 minutes, until edges are golden and centers are still slightly soft. Let cool on the sheet for 2 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
