Prepare
- vegetable oil, for greasing
- Dice 227 g smoked sausage
- Dice 0.5 red onion
- Dice 1 medium green bell pepper

Step 1.
Preheat the oven to 350°F. Lightly oil a 9-by-13-inch baking dish with vegetable oil.

In a large skillet over medium-high heat, drizzle 1 tablespoon vegetable oil. Add the diced smoked sausage and cook until browned, about 3–4 minutes.

Add the diced red onion and diced green bell pepper to the skillet. Cook until tender, about 5 minutes, then turn off the heat.

In the prepared baking dish, combine the canned pork and beans, cooked sausage mixture, ketchup, brown sugar, yellow mustard, maple syrup, molasses, and Worcestershire sauce. Stir until well combined.

Bake uncovered for 1 hour, until the beans are bubbly and thickened slightly. Serve warm.
