All-Purpose Vanilla Frosting

Step 1.
In a large mixing bowl, beat the 2 egg whites with an electric mixer on medium-high speed until they become thick and frothy, about 2–3 minutes.

Gradually add the 4 tablespoons softened butter and 3 cups powdered sugar, a little at a time, beating continuously until the frosting is thick and smooth. If the frosting seems too thin, add more powdered sugar, 1 tablespoon at a time, until desired consistency is reached.

Beat in the 1 teaspoon vanilla extract until fully incorporated. If the frosting becomes too soft or mushy, refrigerate it for 15–20 minutes to firm up before using.
