Let's Prepare

Collect

Gather these ingredients — no prep needed yet.

  • 2 egg whites
  • 3 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla

Prepare

  • Soften 4 tbsp butter

Let's Cook

  1. Step 1.

In a large mixing bowl, beat the 2 egg whites with an electric mixer on medium-high speed until they become thick and frothy, about 2–3 minutes.

  2. Step 2.

Gradually add the 4 tablespoons softened butter and 3 cups powdered sugar, a little at a time, beating continuously until the frosting is thick and smooth. If the frosting seems too thin, add more powdered sugar, 1 tablespoon at a time, until desired consistency is reached.

  3. Step 3.

Beat in the 1 teaspoon vanilla extract until fully incorporated. If the frosting becomes too soft or mushy, refrigerate it for 15–20 minutes to firm up before using.
