Gather these ingredients - no prep needed yet.

  • 2 cup water or chicken broth
  • 2 tbsp extra-virgin olive oil or butter
  • 1 tsp ground turmeric
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp onion powder or dried minced onion
  • 1 tsp chicken bouillon
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • crushed saffron threads
  • 1 Sazón seasoning

Prepare

  • Rinse 1 cup long-grain white rice

Let's Cook

  1. Step 1.

    Rinse the rice thoroughly to remove excess starch.

  2. Step 2.

    In a medium saucepan, heat oil or butter over medium heat. Add the rinsed rice and sauté for 2-3 minutes until lightly toasted.

  3. Step 3.

    Stir in turmeric, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and chicken bouillon. Stir continuously for about 1 minute until fragrant.

  4. Step 4.

    Pour in water or chicken broth. Bring to a rapid boil.

  5. Step 5.

    Reduce heat to low, cover with a tight-fitting lid, and simmer for 20 minutes without lifting the lid.

  6. Step 6.

    Remove from heat and let rest covered for 5 minutes. Fluff with a fork and serve.
