  • All-beef hot dog
  • Burnt ends
  • Bread and butter pickle slices

Let's Cook

  1. Step 1.

    Prepare Kansas City barbecue sauce from scratch or use store-bought. If making from scratch, follow your preferred recipe and set aside.

  2. Step 2.

    Grill an all-beef hot dog over medium-high heat, turning occasionally, until heated through and lightly charred, about 4–6 minutes.

    Place the grilled hot dog in a classic bun.

    Top the hot dog with a handful of burnt ends (chopped pieces of barbecued brisket or other meat).

    Slather a generous amount of Kansas City barbecue sauce over the burnt ends and hot dog.

    Add a handful of bread and butter pickle slices on top. Serve immediately.
