  • large presliced hamburger bun
  • 2 all-beef sausages
  • mayonnaise
  • ketchup
  • yellow mustard
  • grated cheddar cheese
  • pico de gallo

Let's Cook

  1. Step 1.

Prepare mashed potatoes according to your preferred recipe and set aside, keeping warm if necessary.

  2. Step 2.

Heat canned or frozen corn and peas according to package instructions until hot.

  3. Step 3.

Cut a presliced hamburger bun in half, reserving one half for another use.

  4. Step 4.

Panfry two all-beef sausages on a flattop or in a skillet over medium heat until cooked through and browned, about 5-7 minutes, turning occasionally.

  5. Step 5.

Place the cooked sausages in the halved hamburger bun.

  6. Step 6.

Top the sausages with a line each of mayonnaise, ketchup, and yellow mustard, then add a handful each of grated cheddar cheese, heated corn, and heated peas.

  7. Step 7.

Sprinkle a handful of shoestring potatoes on top of the cheese, corn, and peas.

  8. Step 8.

Cram a heaping pile of mashed potatoes into the bun, then swipe the dull end of a knife across the top so the mashed potatoes are level with the bun.

  9. Step 9.

Add a spoonful each of pico de gallo and vinaigrette on top of the mashed potatoes.
