  • 2 ½ teaspoons baking powder
  • ½ teaspoon baking soda
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 2 large eggs
  • ½ cup (100g) sugar
  • ½ cup (120g) sour cream
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • Powdered sugar
  • 1

Gather these ingredients - no prep needed yet.

  • 2 cups (250g) all-purpose flour
  • 2 ½ teaspoons baking powder
  • ½ teaspoon baking soda
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 2 large eggs
  • ½ cup (100g) sugar
  • ½ cup (120g) sour cream
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • Powdered sugar
  • 1 Flavored Sugars

Let's Cook

  1. Step 1.

    Whisk together in a medium bowl: 2 cups (250g) all-purpose flour; 2 ½ teaspoons baking powder; ½ teaspoon baking soda; ½ teaspoon salt; ½ teaspoon ground cinnamon

  2. Step 2.

    Beat in a large bowl until foamy: 2 large eggs

  3. Step 3.

    Gradually add and beat until thoroughly blended: ½ cup (100g) sugar

  4. Step 4.

    Stir in until blended: ½ cup (120g) sour cream; 1 teaspoon vanilla

  5. Step 5.

    Add the flour mixture to the egg mixture and stir just until incorporated. The dough will be very soft. Pat the dough into a disc, wrap in plastic wrap, and refrigerate for at least 2 hours and up to 2 days.

  6. Step 6.

    Roll out, cut, rest, and fry as for Cake Doughnuts. Drain well on paper towels and either dust with: Powdered sugar

  7. Step 7.

    or toss in a bowl with: Flavored Sugars

  8. Step 8.

    Serve while still warm.
