A classic Spanish sangria made with red wine, brandy, orange liqueur, and fresh fruit. Refrigerate for at least two hours before serving.

Ingredients

Servings:
  • Two 750ml bottles dry red wine such as rioja, malbec, or shiraz
  • ½ cup brandy
  • ¼ cup Cointreau
  • 6 tablespoons lemon juice
  • ½ cup sugar, or to taste
  • 1 orange, cut into small chunks
  • 1 lemon, cut into small chunks
  • 1 tart apple, cored and cut into small chunks
  • (1 cup sliced pitted peaches or plums)

Gather these ingredients - no prep needed yet.

Let's Cook

  1. Step 1.

    Combine in a large pitcher: Two 750ml bottles dry red wine such as rioja, malbec, or shiraz; ½ cup brandy; ¼ cup Cointreau; 6 tablespoons lemon juice; ½ cup sugar, or to taste

  2. Step 2.

    Stir to dissolve the sugar. Add: 1 orange, cut into small chunks; 1 lemon, cut into small chunks; 1 tart apple, cored and cut into small chunks; (1 cup sliced pitted peaches or plums)

  3. Step 3.

    Cover with plastic wrap and refrigerate for 2 hours.
