Prime Rib of Beef
A prime rib roast seasoned with black pepper, soy sauce, Kitchen Bouquet, and dry mustard, then slow-roasted to perfection. Served with wine sauce and horseradish sauce.

Prepare
- 1 beef rib roast, bone in
- 1 cup yellow onion, peeled and sliced 1/8 inch thick

Step 1.
Preheat oven to 450°F for 20 minutes.

Step 2.
Rub the seasonings on the roast in the order listed: freshly ground black pepper, dark soy sauce, Kitchen Bouquet, and dry mustard.

Pack the sliced onion on the roast.

Place the roast on a rack in a roasting pan.

Roast in preheated 450°F oven for 20 minutes.

Reduce oven temperature to 325°F and roast 1 hour more.

Reduce oven to 300°F and roast about one hour more or until beef registers 115°F for rare in the center.

Remove from oven and allow to stand 15 minutes in a warm place.
