Let's Prepare

Collect

Gather these ingredients — no prep needed yet.

  • Nonstick baking spray
  • 3 cup all-purpose flour
  • 3 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 tsp kosher salt
  • 5 large eggs
  • 1 cup 7UP
  • 1 tbsp vanilla extract
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 1/4 cup 7UP

Prepare

  • Soften 1 cup unsalted butter

Let's Cook

  1. Step 1.

Preheat the oven to 325°F. If your Bundt pan is not nonstick, grease it with nonstick baking spray.

  2. Step 2.

In a large mixing bowl, whisk together 3 cups all-purpose flour, 3 cups granulated sugar, and ½ teaspoon kosher salt until lump-free and well combined.

  3. Step 3.

In a medium mixing bowl, whisk 5 large eggs until the color is completely yellow. Pour the eggs into the flour mixture and add 1 cup (2 sticks) unsalted butter, softened. Using a handheld mixer, mix on medium speed until everything is completely incorporated.

  4. Step 4.

Pour in 1 cup 7UP and 1 tablespoon vanilla extract, and mix on medium speed until the batter is smooth.

  5. Step 5.

Pour the batter into the prepared Bundt pan. Let the batter sit in the pan for 3 minutes.

  6. Step 6.

Bake for 65 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted near the center of the cake comes out clean. Remove from the oven, let sit for 5 minutes, then carefully invert the cake onto a wire rack and remove the pan. Let the cake cool completely.

  7. Step 7.

While the cake cools, make the icing or glaze: In a medium mixing bowl, combine 1 cup powdered sugar (for an icing) or granulated sugar (for a glaze) with ¼ cup 7UP and whisk until the sugar dissolves.

  8. Step 8.

Once the cake is completely cool, spoon the icing over the cake and let it set for at least 20 minutes before serving.
