  • 1 large egg, well beaten in a medium bowl
  • Pinch of salt
  • ⅛ inch vegetable oil or chicken fat

  • 1 large egg, well beaten in a medium bowl
  • Pinch of salt
  • ⅛ inch vegetable oil or chicken fat
  • 1 (Cinnamon Sugar)

Let's Cook

  1. Step 1.

    For each serving, use: 2 unsalted matzos; 1 large egg, well beaten in a medium bowl

  2. Step 2.

    Hold the matzos briefly under hot running water to wet both sides without making them soggy. Drain and tear into 2 ½- to 3-inch pieces and add to the beaten egg. Stir to coat the matzo. Season with: Pinch of salt

  3. Step 3.

    Heat in a large skillet: ⅛ inch vegetable oil or chicken fat

  4. Step 4.

    Using a large spoon or spatula, spread the matzo mixture in the skillet in a very thin layer. Cook, turning the pieces as they brown, until medium-brown and crispy. Serve warm, passing the salt shaker or: (Cinnamon Sugar)
