- 1/2 oz dry vermouth
- green olive

Step 1.
Chill a cocktail glass by filling it with ice water or placing it in the freezer for at least 10 minutes.

In a mixing glass filled with ice, combine 2½ ounces gin and ½ ounce dry vermouth.

Stir the mixture vigorously for about 30 seconds until well-chilled and diluted, then strain into the chilled cocktail glass.

Garnish the martini with a green olive, either skewered on a toothpick or dropped directly into the glass.
