- ½ cup (160g) maple syrup
- 4 tablespoons (½ stick or 55g) unsalted butter
- ½ cup (65g) all-purpose flour
- ¼ teaspoon salt
Let's Cook
-
Step 1.
Combine in a medium saucepan, bring to a hard boil, and cook for 30 seconds: ½ cup (160g) maple syrup; 4 tablespoons (½ stick or 55g) unsalted butter
-
Step 2.
Remove from the heat and stir in: ½ cup (65g) all-purpose flour; ¼ teaspoon salt
-
Step 3.
When well blended, drop the dough by the tablespoon 3 inches apart onto the prepared baking sheet. Bake until the cookies are browned, 12 to 16 minutes, rotating the sheet halfway through. Let cool on the sheet for 2 or 3 minutes, then mold each still-warm cookie over a rolling pin or glass bottle. If some of the wafers cool too much to shape, return the sheet to the oven briefly to warm and soften them.
