Let's Prepare

Collect

Gather these ingredients - no prep needed yet.

  • 175 g fillet steak
  • 1 1/2 tbsp soy sauce
  • 2 tsp clear honey
  • 1/2 tsp freshly ground black pepper
  • 1 tsp sesame oil
  • 1/2 tsp groundnut (peanut) oil
  • 1 tsp sesame seeds

Prepare

  • 1 clove garlic, peeled and crushed

Let's Cook

  1. Step 1.

Cut the steak into long, thin strips about 2mm thick and place them in a mixing bowl.

  2. Step 2.

Heat a griddle pan over high heat until smoking. While the griddle heats, add the crushed garlic, soy sauce, honey, black pepper, sesame oil, and groundnut oil to the bowl with the steak. Mix well to coat the strips evenly, then thread the strips onto six metal skewers.

  3. Step 3.

Place the skewers on the hot griddle and cook for 1–1½ minutes per side, until charred but still pink and juicy in the center. Transfer the kebabs to a serving dish, scatter sesame seeds over the top, and serve immediately.
