Prepare the simple syrup: combine 1 cup sugar and 1 cup water in a saucepan. Bring to a boil, stirring until the sugar dissolves. Remove from heat and let cool completely.

Fill a cocktail shaker with ice. Add 2 ounces light rum, 2 ounces dark rum, 2 ounces passion fruit juice, 1 ounce orange juice, 1/2 ounce fresh lime juice, 1 tablespoon simple syrup, and 1 tablespoon grenadine.
