Gather these ingredients - no prep needed yet.

  • 4 star anise
  • 4 cinnamon sticks
  • 8 cloves
  • 1 orange
  • 250 ml bourbon
  • 4 tbsp clear honey

Let's Cook

  1. Step 1.

    Boil a kettle of water. Meanwhile, divide 4 star anise, 4 cinnamon sticks, and 8 cloves evenly among 4 mugs.

  2. Step 2.

    Using a peeler, peel 4 strips of orange zest. Twist each strip to release oils and add one to each mug. Slice 4 slices from the orange and place one slice in each mug.

  3. Step 3.

    Divide 1 cup (250ml) bourbon and 4 tablespoons clear honey among the mugs. Fill each mug to the top with boiling water. Stir each mug with a cinnamon stick and serve immediately.
