Let's Cook

  1. Step 1.

    Place 100g (3½oz) green cardamom pods and 3 cardamom tea bags in a small mixing bowl. Pour boiling water over them to cover, then stir with a spoon. Let stand for 5 minutes.

    After 5 minutes, add more boiling water to the bowl until you have 1 litre (35fl oz/4¼ cups) of liquid total. Stir briefly.

  3. Step 3.

    Cover the bowl and let it steep for 12 hours at room temperature.

  4. Step 4.

    After steeping, strain the liquid through a fine-mesh sieve or cheesecloth into a clean container, discarding the solids. Transfer the extract to an airtight container and store in the refrigerator for up to 1 month.
