Let's Cook

  1. Step 1.

    Juice 8 large lemons to yield about 1 cup of juice. Strain the juice through a fine-mesh sieve to remove seeds and pulp if desired.

  2. Step 2.

    In a large pitcher, combine the lemon juice, 6 cups water, and 1¼ cups granulated sugar. Stir vigorously until the sugar is completely dissolved, about 1-2 minutes.

  3. Step 3.

    Refrigerate the lemonade until cold, at least 1 hour. While it chills, you can slice 1 lemon into thin rounds for garnish.

  4. Step 4.

    Fill 8 glasses with ice. Pour the chilled lemonade over the ice and garnish each glass with a lemon slice before serving.
