Danger DOG
A bacon-wrapped hot dog deep-fried and topped with chili and onions. Optionally add a fried egg and cheese for a Jersey Breakfast Dog.

- Chop Finely chopped white onions

Step 1.
Warm the chili if using store-bought, or prepare it from scratch and keep warm over low heat.

Finely chop white onions and set aside.

Take a classic hot dog bun and set it aside.

Wrap a beef and pork hot dog with a slice of uncooked bacon, securing the bacon at each end with a wooden toothpick.

Deep-fry the bacon-wrapped hot dog in hot oil (around 350°F) until the bacon is crispy and the dog is heated through, about 3-4 minutes.

Remove the deep-fried hot dog from the oil and discard the toothpicks.

Place the hot dog in the bun and top with a heaping pile of warm chili and a handful of chopped onions.

For a Jersey Breakfast Dog: While the bacon-wrapped hot dog is deep-frying, fry an egg in a small skillet over medium heat until the white is set and the yolk is cooked to your liking. Place the fried egg and a slice or two of American cheese on the bun, then top with the deep-fried hot dog.
