Step 1.
Prepare the Coney sauce from scratch according to your recipe, or heat store-bought Coney sauce in a small saucepan over medium heat until hot, stirring occasionally.

While the sauce heats, panfry an all-beef hot dog on a flattop or in a skillet over medium-high heat, turning occasionally, until the casing is browned and the dog is heated through, about 3–5 minutes.

Place the cooked hot dog in a classic hot dog bun. Spread a thin layer of yellow mustard along the top of the dog.
