Gather these ingredients - no prep needed yet.

  • 6 tbsp tequila
  • 1/4 cup fresh lime juice
  • 1/4 cup Cointreau
  • Coarse salt
  • Finely grated lime zest
  • lime slices

Let's Cook

  1. Step 1.

    In a small pitcher, combine 6 tablespoons tequila, ¼ cup fresh lime juice, and ¼ cup Cointreau. Stir well to mix.

  2. Step 2.

    If desired, rub the rims of two glasses with a lime slice, then dip the rims into a plate of coarse salt mixed with finely grated lime zest to coat.

  3. Step 3.

    Fill each glass with ice cubes, then pour the margarita mixture evenly over the ice. Garnish each glass with a lime slice and serve immediately.
