Prepare
- 2 Chinese lettuces, halved and finely shredded
- 1 red pepper, deseeded and thinly sliced
- 1 small red chilli, deseeded and thinly sliced
- 0.5 bunch fresh coriander/cilantro, leaves and stalks roughly chopped
Let's Cook
-
Step 1.
Heat the vegetable oil in a small frying pan over medium-high heat. When the oil is hot, add the mustard seeds and fry until they begin to fizz and pop, about 30 seconds. Remove the pan from the heat and set aside to let the oil cool.
-
Step 2.
While the mustard oil cools, in a large bowl, combine the shredded Chinese lettuce, sliced red pepper, sliced red chilli, chopped coriander, chat masala, lemon juice, and a pinch of salt. Toss everything together until well mixed.
-
Step 3.
Once the mustard oil has cooled, drizzle it over the salad. Toss again to coat evenly. Taste and adjust seasoning if needed, then serve immediately.
