Let's Prepare

Gather these ingredients — no prep needed yet.

  • kosher salt
  • top-shelf bourbon
  • 2 tsp vanilla extract

Prepare

  • 1 1/2 cup confectioners' sugar, sifted

Let's Cook

  1. Step 1.

In a medium bowl, combine 1½ cups (180 grams) sifted confectioners' sugar and a pinch of kosher salt. Slowly stir in 2 to 3 tablespoons top-shelf bourbon and 2 teaspoons vanilla extract, adding the bourbon a little at a time, until the mixture becomes a smooth, pourable glaze. You may not need all the bourbon.

  2. Step 2.

Dip the top of each doughnut into the glaze, gently shaking to remove any excess. For an allover glaze, flip and dip the other side as well. Allow the glaze to set for 5 to 10 minutes before serving.
